SEPTEMBER 6-13,2020 we will focus on in-state missions, in our prayers and in our giving. Our Giving Goal this year is $900.

What are 'in-state missions?' They include English as a second language classes, neighborhood summer lunch programs, free community festivals, church plants, Camp Seneca Lake, Christmas backpack outreach, disaster relief, and more! This annual time of prayer and giving is known as The Ray Roberts Offering and 100% of your gifts stays in Ohio.

This year, several local ministries are being highlighted:

1. Lakota Hills Baptist Church, led by Pastor Travis Smalley. Pray for the church to stay focused on reaching Neighbors, the Nations, and the Next Generation for God's glory. Pray for health and growth for the Arabic Church Plant from Lakota Hills. Pastor Smalley says, "We believe heaven will include people from every ethnic group and our church is to reflect this diversity, being a little taste of heaven on earth."

2.Barbara DeLorme, State Coordinator for the Christmas Backpack ministry. Barb works with other state coordinators to collect and distribute thousands of backpacks filled with essential supplies and fun surprises. Pray that the backpack ministry will be an encouragement to all:the children receiving gifts as well as the donors and volunteers. Pray that God is honored and glorified as he brings many children into His Kingdom.

3. Urbancrest Baptist Church, led by Pastor Tom Pendergrass. Urbancrest gives support, encouragement, and practical resources to other local ministries, including Life Church Monroe and Cedar City Church. Pray for wisdom to lead through the challenges presented by a global pandemic. Pray for the physical health of Urbancrest baptist Church including the Pendergrass family.

4. Cedar City Church in Lebanon, planted by David and Renee Hachney. Pray for many to be saved and discipled through our new co-op ministry. Pray for more people to make Cedar City Church their new home and for new leaders to be trained and empowered to lead.

5. Life Church Monroe, planted by Shawn and Michelle Peoples. Pray that Life Church Monroe will see, and be empowered to engage, the needs of their city. Pray for more workers and leaders to join the effort to reach these communities for Christ.

The Southwestern Baptist Association consists of 31 area Southern Baptist churches and Bethany Baptist Church is one of them. The SWBA's mission is to strengthen member churches and start  new church plants. The SWBA provides us resources and assistance, as well as opportunities to network with other area churches, so that we can better share the gospel and help believers to become mature disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. Associational missionary Steve Renfrow leads this effort, assisted by his wife Carol Renfrow.  Click on their logo to find out more about the SWBA in general or go to their Facebook page for current events!
